Louis van Gaal To Get £200 Million Warchest To "Make History" At Man Utd

New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will be handed a £20 million warchest as he looks to make history this summer, according to the Express. Van Gaal was at last unveiled as United's new permanent manager yesterday, taking over from the sacked David Moyes with club legend Ryan Giggs being named as his assistant. And the club's board will waste no time in handing the Dutchman a massive transfer kitty, with up to £200 million being freed up to transform the Red Devils into Premier League contenders again. A £27 million bid for Southampton starlet Luke Shaw has reportedly already been made, but van Gaal won't stop there as he looks to strengthen in all areas. With Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic leaving the club, Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels is on van Gaal's radar, as is his Dortmund teammate Marco Reus. The former Bayern Munich coach will also attempt to lure Bayern's Toni Kroos to Manchester, and has even set his sights on former Chelsea star Arjen Robben. Suffering United fans will be pleased to hear of this planned spending spree with United crashing to a seventh placed finish under Moyes last season, missing out on European football altogether. Moyes was sacked after just 10 months in charge at the club.
