Man City Transfer News: City To Break Records For Falcao

The Sunday Mirror) are reporting that Manchester City could be set to break the British transfer record to secure the signing. The report suggests that City are confident of landing the Colombian striker now that Real Madrid have dropped out of the running. Manager Roberto Mancini certainly doesn€™t lack striking options, but the article reports that Real Madrid could pursue Aguero after giving up on Falcao, and that Edin Dzeko could go the other way as part of a deal with Atletico for Falcao, meaning all change on the striker front. Some of City's strikers have also disappointed this year, with Aguero struggling for fitness and Tevez and Dzeko struggling for form, and consequently, signing a man who has managed to bag 21 goals in La Liga this season seem a step in the right direction for City€™s title bid. The deal though could hinge on Jose Mourinho: the Special One is a big fan of Falcao and has shown interest in taking him across Madrid, but Real aren€™t willing to match the asking price and with rumours of Mourinho replacing Mancini at City, he could get his man in a different country entirely. Mourinho and Falcao also share an agent. The Mirror article also reports that Falcao could be joined by Higuain at City as he looks for a move to the Premier League. A potential move for Falcao should hugely excite Manchester City fans and an exciting summer could be ahead with an overhaul of the squad looking on the cards. Would Falcao be a good signing for City? Would City fans be unhappy to see Dzeko and Aguero go? Comments welcome below.
