Talk surrounding the future of Manchester United star Nani has intensified in recent days with speculation growing that the player will leave Old Trafford before the start of next season.
Caught Offside reports that Red Devils boss Sir. Alex Ferguson has lost faith in Nani and has already set his sights on replacements. Originally the United boss had wanted Luka Modric to replace the 25-year-old Portugese winger who helped guide his country into the quarter finals of Euro 2012 last night, but now he has firmly turned his his attention to Modric’s Spurs teammate Gareth Bale.
Reports are that Ferguson is ready to make a sensational £38 million offer for the 22-year-old who he sees as the long term replacement for Ryan Giggs on the left-hand side of the Red Devils attack.
Nani was set to extend his contract at the end of last season, but after two attempts to negotiate a deal it seems the two parties couldn’t make it work. Talk of him leaving the Red Devils intensified when Sir Alex Ferguson seemed to be chasing Modric to replace Nani, although with the Croatian midfielder looking to La Liga to play his football next season, Bale is now the preferred choice.
Ferguson is hoping to take advantage of the fact former boss Harry Redknapp has left Spurs and that Bale might feel like the club is going in the wrong direction having missed out, no matter how cruelly, on Champions League football for a second successive season.
Nani arrived in Manchester for £25 million back in 2007 and has claimed publically he is being forced out of a team he doesn’t want to leave.

bale is a great player and sir alex willing to pay 38 million for him is no joke . nani although a decent player is not very consistent and bale would be a great addition but rather than the flanks its the centre of midfield which needs to improve …

If United sell a player of Nani’s caliber to buy an overrated and inferior Gareth Bale, a believer of his own hype, the club IS heading in the wrong direction. Nani is the best winger in the premiership, selling him would be sheer madness.
Dunno what games you’ve been watching but Nani isn’t a consistent player in the slightest. He has the ability to change a game, but on other days he’s about as useful as a chocolate teapot. You are attached to a Nani of seasons past. I think that for him to stay at United he needs to be doing a lot better. Bales a good player. I think he’d fit into United well, our flanks have been a bit slow at some points of last season. He could put some pace back in them. Also there will be rulings in the future that limit the amount of foreign players in premiership teams. I think Alex is preparing for that.
Don’t think Fergie should buy him for that much. maybe 9 million plus exchanging Nani to Tottenham to sweeten the deal.

Firstly, the base issue is that Man U never replace Ronaldo. Nani had the ego, but never the form. Fergie won’t go for Bale, asking price is too much for a club in debt and won’t want to risk being kicked out of the Champions League, plus Bale is overpriced by Spurs. Man U should go for a reasonable priced quality player. If I were Fergie I’d be trying to get Johnson from City. Hes not welcome there by Mancini (don’t know why) and won’t cost them a bundle. It will also spark the rivalry up after City got Tevez.
Nani’s become dead weight in my eyes. He’s been at UTD long enough now to have built on his potential, but has shown no signs of real consistency. He disappears in big games, doesn’t score nearly enough goals considering how many strikes he has, and the level of his game hasn’t really improved. Or at least not to the level we’d expect from such an expensive signing. I say sell Nani and Anderson (another inconsistent player that came at a cost) while they still have some market value, and bring in a box to box midfielder (of the Roy Keane variety), and Bale. Bale’s stock is only going to rise once he joins a club fighting for major honors season after season. He’ll get the right development at UTD, and become the player we all know he’s capable of being. Have Bale and Valencia running the wings and I don’t think there’ll be a better set of wingers in any team in the Premiere League. Then we can have Young either being a back up on the wings, or, like he does for England from time to time, in a more central position supporting the striker/s. He’s had great success in that position for the national side. Modric would be a great addition to the team, but I can’t see that happening to be honest. The price is going to sky rocket if Real and Barce really are in the mix for him.

As far of Nani’s speculation about transfer, i guess it’s upto him, if he want to leave the club he can move on. The club set to extend his contract 2 times but he is not happy wit the amount the club happens to pay him. Now his future is upto him..

You sir, are a moron. Ferdinand was quality in the second half of last season, giggs is a united legend who can still preform at the top level, and Michael carrick had a good season last year, just because he’s not a “big name” player doesn’t mean he isn’t good, he keeps possession well and has a great range of passing. I’m not saying we don’t need a new CM and modric would be good, but there’s no point doing and overhaul of our most experienced, multiple league and European winners and relying on youth to do the job.

Sell that useless nani. He is unbelievably inconsistent. Sell nani. Forget bale, overpriced. Make young 1st team winger with Valencia. And buy young Rodriguez from Porto. okay first of all fergie couldnt work out a contract with nani so the end of the day he has to leave old trafford. but bale is still young yes his over priced but he has been playing exceptional, is he worth 38 million of course not but the addition of him in the club can maybe just maybe give us a chance to be champions for european league or champions league in the FUTURE
