Man Utd's £128m Triple Signing Swoop Worrying José Mourinho?
Mourinho requests urgent transfer talks with club bosses amidst Gareth Bale reports.
TEAMTalk are reporting that José Mourinho will meet with Man Utd executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and other bosses to discuss the club's transfer strategy during the summer window.
Mou's main worry revolves around a triple-transfer swoop that could cost Utd up to £128 million; Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred, FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot and Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld are the rumoured trio involved, and that leaves a limited budget currently giving Mourinho a headache.
If Utd are successful in signing all three players, then José may well miss out on some of his other top targets. This, according to reports, all hinges on any top table bid being made for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.
Woodward is keen to pursue Bale, but Mourinho would rather strengthen his central midfield and left back positions first. Bids for Juventus star Alex Sandro and Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are said to be the manager's preferred options.
History could be repeating itself here. Over the past two summers, Utd's money men have been hesitant to give him a budget over £150 million. Should Fred, Dalot, Alderweireld and Bale sign, there may be no more money available.
