Manchester United are set to raid Lazio for international duo Felipe Anderson and Stefan de Vrij, in a bid to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premier League season. They pair played a key part in helping the Italian club finish in 3rd place during the 2014/2015 season that earned a return to Champions League football. However, a Daily Star report claims the Old Trafford boss has his eyes set on the Brazilian and Dutch internationals are is willing to make an offer that the Serie A side can't afford to turn down, despite their insisting that the players will be staying put. Van Gaal has worked with de Vrij during his time with Holland, and despite the defender having only been a part of Lazio's set-up since 2014, the Dutch international may be tempted to cut his time in Italy short to be reunited with his former manager. And with the Manchester club having to rely on youngsters Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett during last season, the club will be focusing on bringing in more defensive options to help boost their chances regaining some silverware. Anderson, a recent Brazilian debutante, is a technically-gifted midfielder who bagged 10 goals for Lazio last term and despite missing out on a place in his country's Copa America squad is sure to be part of the set-up in years to come. A move to England would provide the 22-year-old with a greater platform to prove his worth, where his extraordinary pace could set the Premier League alight. The two stars won't come cheap though, with a hefty chunk of United's transfer budget expected to be taken up if the club are successful in their swoop.
