Man Utd Transfer News: Ander Herrera Deal Embroiled By Fraud Claims

Andy West. United reportedly sent delegates to the La Liga offices in Madrid to negotiate a deal for the 24-year-old, but it turns out the "representatives" had nothing to do with the Premier League champions. Spanish media have published pictures of men in black suits (above) coming out of the league offices carrying briefcases, but it has since transpired they could be fraudsters. The men were allegedly attempting to get a cut of the deal for Herrera in an elaborate scam, reports claim. This comes as a sensational twist to what has been a dire summer of inactivity for manager David Moyes, whose only signing to date since taking over from the retired Sir Alex Ferguson has been unknown rookie Guillermo Varela. Moyes has missed out on a series of key targets since taking the top job at Old Trafford, with the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas slipping through his net in recent months. With just ten minutes to go until the 23:00 BST transfer window deadline, anxiety is growing among Red Devils fans that the club may not sign anybody this summer.
