Man Utd Transfer News: Arsenal To Bid £15 Million For Nani
Daily Star, Arsenal FC are preparing a £15 million bid for Manchester United winger, Nani. The 26-year-old Portuguese international has been linked with several clubs over the last year but it seems Arsenal are ready to make an official bid. Nani is one Uniteds most inconsistent players in the squad and has failed to make a real first-team statement. Nanis ability is clearly visible but his lack on effectiveness as well being stuck in the shadow of former United ace and fellow international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has made United fans become frustrated with the winger. Nani has made just 21 appearances this season and with the likes of Shinji Kagawa, Wayne Rooney, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Alexandre Buttner and Wilfried Zaha all able to play on Uniteds wing, Nanis future at Old Trafford doesnt look bright. Nani was sent off in Uniteds Champions League last-16 game against Real Madrid in March and has only played three times since then. It is believed that Arsene Wenger is set to spend big in the summer in hopes of keeping up with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham, who are all set to open their chequebooks. Manchester United have always declared Nani has a future at Old Trafford despite the interest from other clubs but now United is under new management, David Moyes may feel he needs to cash in on Nani. Nani has made just 10 league appearances in this season, his lowest since arriving from Sporting Lisbon for 25.5 million in June 2007. Arsenal fans may worry that buying Nani might be a mistake especially considering his poor form of late.
