Man Utd Transfer News: Club To Pay Bayern Munich For Robert Lewandowski?

Daily Star, Manchester United could be forced to pay BOTH Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich if they wish to buy Robert Lewandowski. The much talked about Polish international forward has made it publicly known that he wants to leave the Westfalenstadion and despite Dortmund stating the player will not join rivals Bayern Munich, Manchester United may have to pay the Bundesliga champions a compensation fee to stay away from making a move. The Daily Star claims that a complicated deal would need to be enforced where United pay Munich a fee, and then negotiate a deal with Dortmund for the services of the player. Bayern do remain clear favourites to sign Lewandowski but with Dortmund refusing to sell the striker to Munich, it's not clear where he will end up this summer. The 24-year-old sees himself staying in the Bundesliga rather than joining the Premier League champions. The new Red Devil boss David Moyes is extremely interested in Lewandowski and sees him as an alternative to unhappy Wayne Rooney, who is constantly rumoured to be leaving Old Trafford this summer. The striker scored 24 goals in 29 league games last season and was one the main reasons why Dortmund came runner-ups in the Bundesliga and Champions League. His ten goals in twelve games were a significant factor in Dortmund€™s European campaign. The German side want a massive £25.5 million for Lewandowski but a lower fee could be agreed due to Lewandowski having just one-year left on his deal. The Red Devils aren€™t shy on bidding big money for players with a year left on their deal with United having paid £24 million for former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie last summer. Lewandowski could well force his way to Munich by running down his contract until next season but with the player desperate to leave Dortmund this summer he could well end up at his second choice.
