Man Utd Transfer News: Daley Blind Could Make £17 Million Move?

Van Gaal to bring one of his Dutch warriors to Old Trafford?

As we reported yesterday, Louis Van Gaal is searching for Dutch defensive options after we wrote he was interested in making an offer for De Vrig from Feyenoord. It has recently been reported by Italian sources that the former Netherlands national coach, who is now the new Manchester United manager, is also weighing up an offer for Daley Blind for a reported £17m. Daley, who is the son of legendary Danny Blind, 24 years old, is a pivotal part of Ajax's defence and would be a great addition to a weak looking United defence. Blind was named the Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2014 and received great praise for his performances in the World Cup as his national teams reached the Semi-Finals but unfortunately lost on penalties against Argentina. The main positive element to Daley Blind is his versatility where he can play as a centre half, could cover as left back if Luke Shaw was unavailable and could even step up to be a defensive midfielder should the opportunity arise. Are you happy with the recent rumours surrounding Dutch players joining Manchester United? Should Van Gaal be focusing on other players instead of ones he has recently worked with in Brazil? source - express
