Man Utd Transfer News: Miguel Herrera Confirms Javier Hernandez Departure

Mexico manager Miguel Herrera congratulates the Man Utd star on his move to Real Madrid.

Miguel Herrera has seemingly confirmed Javier Hernandez's switch to Real Madrid on Twitter. The Mexico manager wrote a short message on the micro social networking site earlier this morning congratulating the Manchester United striker on his switch to the European champions, writing: €œGoing to Real Madrid is a great opportunity for , I wish him the utmost success.€ Hernandez has been linked with a move to Real for the last couple of days with rumours suggesting the Mexico international is set for a loan move to the Santiago Bernabeu, and now this speculation has seemingly been confirmed. United manager Louis van Gaal is looking to offload players before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline and 'Chicharito' appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements. Javier Hernandez Man Utd Real's move for Hernandez comes after they reportedly turned down the chance to sign AS Monaco's Radamel Falcao, who has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital for much of the summer and has also been tipped to join a Premier League club today. The United man certainly represents a cheaper alternative given Madrid's jaw-dropping outlay on players of late. Hernandez joined the Red Devils from Guadalajara in 2010 and has made 154 total appearances for the club, 102 of them in the Premier League. He has scored 37 league goals and has won two titles and the Community Shield during his stay at Old Trafford. However, he has been largely used as a substitute during that time and United appear to have made the decision to move him on.
