Goal.com are reporting that Manchester United face the possibility of being beaten to the signature of 19-year-old Lucas Moura, who has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League runners-up for some time now.
United have been chasing the Sao Paulo’s teenager for weeks and are set to make a bid in next few days, but despite looking to pay up to £20 million for the player, Manchester United could instead be forced to pay closer to £30 million or back out of any deal.
As well as Sir Alex Ferguson chasing the youngster, it is believed that Champions League winners Chelsea are also in the race for his signature. But current club Sao Paulo are determined to retain their attacking midfielder and with pricy salary demands of around £110,000-a-week, Moura could find himself staying at the Brazilian side.
Lucas Moura has played 104 games since starting in 2010 and has scored 26 goals and has assisted his teammates 20 times, and he would be exactly the caliber of player that United are currently in search of to the benefit of the team.
With Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid owners all stating in last few years they have money to spend at their clubs during this window, they will no doubt cause problems for Sir Alex in the next few weeks.

I think he would b great wit are new signing kagawa, but we need to sort out out defence as well as midfield, we have our wingers , evea is loosing hi touch a long wit rio, we need vidic back an he needs a good steins defender wit him. I’d buy another stricker for Rooney to run wit

From good sources, martin edwards, formerly of manchester united, has stated on italien sky that man united are in pole position to land lucas, and are going to have to with sao paolo and lucas’ parents on monday, hoping to get a deal wrapped up in the next 72 hours.
While Lucas is a great player and quite possible the next best thing to come out of Brazil, he just isnt what United require at the moment. A player of his ability and talent would demand regular first team football, something that cannot be gaurenteed. United have already signed Kagawa and Powell and in all likelyhood the signings of Eriksen and Baines will follow but the rest are all just pipe dreams. United will probably play a 4 4 2 formation with Valencia, Carrick, Kagawa and Nani/Young and Rooney partnering Welbeck upfront. The most important thing to remember is you cannot have a guy earning 110 000 Pounds a week and have him warm the bench for you. Yet another reason why Alex might not consider him is the fact that he is yet to prove himself outside of Brazil, Eriksen atleast has Uefa Champions League expierence.
We have to sign Baines first.Then i think we must take care about our holding miedfielders.we have got some talented young midfielders in the likes of Kagawa,Powell,Cleverly and not to be forgotten Anderson.It will be also great to sign a high profile striker to support Rooney up front.But i am sure our big boss,Sir Alex Ferguson will di what he thinks best for the club
Moura is an attacker who can also be played as a playmaker.As Vidic is back and Rio & Evra carry on at least for 2 more saesons,I would suggest united to strengthen their attacking part.So I would like to see Moura or Martinez at Old Trafford next season rather than Baines. Specially Moura.Cause I’ve seen him playing for Brazil and SP,he has got the potential to be the best at his position in world football.
I think wat is best 4 us now is to sort out our Defense now that Fabio is on loan, evra is ageing and rio is not himself. we have good wingers and more than enough mid with Kagawa and Powel coming in , cleverly fand underson fully recovered and scholes still energetic and experienced. defence first and maybe strikers coz Welbeck and Hernandez are incosnistent.
Lucas Moura is must for utd
We need a strong playmaker in the midfield who has a high work rate and can defend as well as attack.
Javier Martinez would be a much better option than Lucas. He has presence, is two footed, can influence a lethal midfield attack with a great range of passes and will work hard to defend and win posession in the centre of the park.
It all depends on what formation Fergie is going to deploy.
I hope He uses Kagawa as a CAM and builds an attacking team around him.

We are 100 percent interested in him because United don’t have strong medfielder as now. I think united is the right place for him to play this season. If Sir Alex can consider our suport lake go ahead and buy him now. If not him, then we Seneider, Robeun van persie or Bale so that they can make man u pickhis form this season.
