Man Utd Transfer News: Philippe Mexes To Solve Defensive Dilemma
The 30-year-old veteran French international could be on United's radar.
Manchester United are interested in adding AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes to their squad, according to Caughtoffside.com. The 30-year-old veteran French international is on Uniteds radar after manager Sir Alex Ferguson had to include two midfielders in his defence for the opening game against Everton last night. With Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones all injured it seems United are hoping to improve their defence with one last summer capture. Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly looking to launch a move to capture the French international on a season-long loan deal, however it is believed that Manchester United would offer a cash sum if a temporary deal isn't agreed. Despite Manchester United already adding to their defence with the addition of 23-year-old Alexander Buttner on Tuesday it seems they will go to any measure in order to continue to strengthen the squad. With Sir Alex Ferguson understanding that Vidic and Ferdinand are injury prone it seems only right to strengthen the position.
