Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils To Make £35 Million Cesc Fabregas Bid?

Daily Mail. The Spain international is the Premier League champion's No.1 transfer target this summer as new boss David Moyes looks to add more creativity to his side ahead of the new Premier League season. Paul Scholes has retired again and Fabregas is viewed as the ideal replacement for the ex-England international. The Red Devil's interest in the former Arsenal captain has been met with short shrift so far however, with the club failing with two bids - of £26 million and latterly £30 million - to date. Now, United look to return with a third, club-transfer-record-breaking offer which will put the £30.75 million paid to Tottenham for Dimitar Berbatov in 2008 well and truly in the shade. Publicly at least, Barca have been adamant that Fabregas will not be sold, but privately, the player is understood to have confided in close friends he is open to the possibility of returning to England following two seasons in Spain. It is also believed he is keen to link up once more with ex-Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie, who quit the Emirates last summer to join United. Moyes will be hoping this latest offer will help sway the Catalans into accepting, given the size of the bid, though if it fails, the champions will look to Everton's Marouane Fellaini and Real Madrid's Luka Modric as alternatives.
