Man Utd Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski To Run Down Contract At Borussia Dortmund
Daily Star, Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski is set to turn down a move to the Premier League and run down his contract at Borussia Dortmund in hopes he can secure a move to Bayern Munich next summer. The Polish striker has admitted he wants to leave Dortmund and favours a move to Bundesliga champions but his current club are refusing to sell him to their close domestic rivals. The 25-year-old though is determined to become a Bayern Munich player and is now looking to snub the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea this summer. Dortmund have already sold star playmaker Mario Gotze to Munich and are now refusing to lose another key player to their rivals. Dortmund have also tried to keep Lewandowski at the club by offering him a pay rise but the prolific striker rejected a contract extension, making it crystal clear he has every intention of the leaving the German side. Lewandowski fired his side straight to the UEFA Champions League final but after being beaten by an 89th minute goal from Arjen Robben, the striker had to watch his rival club lift the silverware. Dortmund also came second to Munich in the Bundesliga and had to watch the club complete a treble winning season after picking up the German Cup. Lewandowski has been in sensational form this season having netted 24 league goals in 31 games for his club. The striker has also been a key player in Dortmunds European campaign scoring ten goals in just 13 appearances. With Wayne Rooneys future still unknown at Old Trafford, The Premier League champions were showing signs of interest in Lewandowski but with the player set on the Allianz Arena a move to the Premier League now looks very unlikely.
