Man Utd Transfers: Is Arturo Vidal FINALLY On His Way In?

Verbal agreement in place to bring Chilean to Old Trafford.

Every summer invariably sees a will they won't they saga involving a big club and their intended quarry, as all parties stare awkwardly across an imagined dancefloor making gooey eyes at each other and waiting for the chaperones in the middle to allow them at each other, and one of the biggest this year has been the potential move of Arturo Vidal to any number of English clubs, though chiefly Manchester United. Louis Van Gaal has his eyes on the Chilean midfielder, like a raunch-fuelled teenager eyeing up potential mate, and it looks like the Dutchman might finally be about to add the Juventus star to his rebuilt midfield ahead of the new season. According to El Mercurcio, there is now a "verbal agreement" in place to take Vidal to United, in exchange for an eye-watering ‚80m, proving that you don't need to qualify for the Champions League to spend serious money in the Premier League.
Whether Vidal is worth that sort of money remains to be seen, but his combative style should suit Van Gaal and add some further mettle to the United midfield that has already seen the addition of Ander Herrera, and which should soon be free of the presence of Belgian flop Marouane Fellaini, who seems destined to join Napoli on loan. With Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all strengthening, and Newcastle, Spurs and Everton expected to mount serious challenges for European qualification, United needed to make another statement of intent - especially with Luke Shaw apparently having been told he's not fit enough for the Premier League yet - and Vidal would bring a plethora of experience and ability in exchange for his sizeable fee. Are you happy with this signing? Who else do you think United need to sign? Share your thoughts below.
