Manchester City Transfer News: Fernando Llorente To Cost £30m?

Manchester City's fall back if they fail to capture Robin Van Persie on his tear-filled plane home from Euro 2012 will set them back the princely sum of £30 million.

Manchester City's fall back if they fail to capture Robin Van Persie on his tear-filled plane home from Euro 2012 will set them back the princely sum of £30 million, according to The Sun. Despite being the much better choice than Robin Van Persie, 27 year old Spanish star Fernando Llorente's buyout clause at Athletic Bilbao may deter City from making a move for the forward due to financial fair play and their already failing £30 million target man Edin Dzeko and the returning loanee Emmanuel Adebayor. City still believe their number one summer transfer target is Dutchman Van Persie and they will make big overtures to the Arsenal forward once he lands in the UK for pre-season training with the Gunners. Despite Roberto Mancini's desire to spend more than God, squad trimming will be required if they want to be able to afford the much coveted La Liga striker who's in his prime and ready for his final major contract after scoring 24 goals last season.
