Manchester United Eyeing Transfer Move For Sunderland's James McClean

Sir Alex Ferguson is considering making a summer transfer move for Sunderland's in-form winger James McClean, according to our sources. McClean's excellent run of performances have caught the eye of the Manchester Untied boss who sees him as a long term replacement for Ryan Giggs. The 22-year-old left winger has been an absolute revelation for new Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill who gave him a run in the Black Cats team as soon as he was appointed and whose goals and assists have helped thrust Sunderland into the top half of the table and into the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup. His run of form has also been noticed by Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni who has included McClean in his latest squad, and who could now go on to play at the Euro 2012 tournament this summer. We are hearing Fergie might have some competition on his hands if he wants to add the impressive youngster to his Red Devils team. We hear that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the player at Sunderland and will be hoping to make a quick offer in the summer before the player develops to the stage where he could command the amount of money they had to spent to secure Jordan Henderson.
