Sir Alex Ferguson is considering making a summer transfer move for Sunderland’s in-form winger James McClean, according to our sources.
McClean’s excellent run of performances have caught the eye of the Manchester Untied boss who sees him as a long term replacement for Ryan Giggs.
The 22-year-old left winger has been an absolute revelation for new Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill who gave him a run in the Black Cats team as soon as he was appointed and whose goals and assists have helped thrust Sunderland into the top half of the table and into the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup. His run of form has also been noticed by Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni who has included McClean in his latest squad, and who could now go on to play at the Euro 2012 tournament this summer.
We are hearing Fergie might have some competition on his hands if he wants to add the impressive youngster to his Red Devils team. We hear that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the player at Sunderland and will be hoping to make a quick offer in the summer before the player develops to the stage where he could command the amount of money they had to spent to secure Jordan Henderson.

Ridiculous story, clearly made up.
Why would you think it was made up?
Clearly made up because no other websites or news sources are reporting this “rumour” .
Also the fact you use that age old vague indicator of made up rubbish “according to our sources”.
What sources? Who? Where? When?
A made up story clearly designed to get web traffic through to a lesser known website. Congratulations, it worked in my case.
Unfortunately we can’t disclose our sources of The Football Insider.
Absolute pile. Considering he is signing a new contract with safc!
Why would that prove or disprove Fergie’s interest?
I’m a knowledgable person when it comes to SAFC, let’s just say i know people. James is very happy with SAFC at the minute and he wouldn’t consider a move away because he thinks he’s at the right club with the right manager to progress his career. These sources you claim are either misguided or just simply making stuff up.
Is there one word in the article that talks about McClean’s thoughts on Fergie’s and Liverpool’s interest in him?
Defend your article all you want with your fancy lawyer words but we both know you’re makign this up as you go along.
Objection!
That’s leading the witness I think?
