Newcastle Transfer News: Alan Pardew To Bid For Massadio Haidara?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wk46z28gTE Newcastle United could make a move for Nancy left-back Massadio Haidara, according to talkSPORT. Magpies manager Alan Pardew signed Mathieu Debuchy earlier this month and the capture of the 20-year old Frenchman would signal an intent to shore up a leaky defence that has conceded fifteen goals in their last five games in League and Cup. A snag in the deal however could be Haidara's apparent desire to join Italian side Roma instead, and although he has been on Newcastle's radar for quite some time now, the player recently suggested a move to Italy was more appealing. Despite this, Newcastle have pressed ahead with their pursuits and the player could be making the move to Tyneside in a £2 million deal. His signature would come as a huge boost to beleaguered Magpies boss Alan Pardew, who has endured a difficult time during the transfer window. He lost his star striker Demba Ba to Chelsea before missing out on his preferred replacement for the Senegalese striker - Loic Remy. Remy joined relegation rivals QPR two days ago, leaving Pardew still searching for a new forward. Newcastle are just two points off the relegation zone and are without a win in their last five games in all competitions.
