Newcastle Transfers: Toon Get Rid Of Mathieu Debuchy

Club's official Twitter account unceremoniously dumps Frenchman from profile picture.

With the news that Daryl Janmaat and Mathieu Debuchy are stuck in some sort of comedy revovling door sort of situation at Newcastle's Benton training ground, the impending confirmation of the Frenchman's move to Arsenal is creeping ever closer. The deal is already done, but Arsene Wenger was forced to wait to unveil his man as Newcastle took an uncharacteristically cool headed approach to transfers, preferring to bring in a replacement before losing one of their star performers from last year. Now though it seems that Janmaat is on the brink of being confirmed by the Magpies, and Debuchy is about to be confirmed by Arsenal - it just remains to be seen which club makes the first move. Newcastle are clearly in no doubt that Debuchy is all but gone - not unexpectedly - as they've removed him from their profile picture on Twitter, as well as on their season ticket advert welcoming the club's four World Cup players back from their international duties. The original image, which can be seen below has now been doctored to remove the Frenchman entirely.
So that's pretty much confirmation that he's already on his way, then. Arsenal are expected to announce Debuchy as their second high-profile signing of the summer after Alexis Sanchez joined, with Sami Khedira rumoured to be closely following. Are you happy to see Debuchy leave? Is Janmaat the right replacement? Add your thoughts below.
