Owen Hargreaves To Make Shock Move To Manchester City?

Reports say he has undergone a three hour medical in Manchester today ahead of a sensational free transfer move to Eastlands.

Owen Hargreaves was so desperate to stay at Manchester United that he offered to play for free this season without a contract. Last weekend he claimed he was fit enough to play 40 games next season and at 30 years old, wants to prove he has something left in his tank after four injury-raved years at Old Trafford. When Ferguson didn't want to keep him around when his contract expired this summer, Hargreaves took the unprecedented move to film himself training and uploaded the video of him looking fighting fit and able onto Youtube, hoping a top club would be interested in him. That interest came from manager Roy Hodgson and a firm contract offer from West Brom was made but Hargreaves still believes he can play at the top level and sat on the offer as interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur came through. But today, sensationally, it's being reported that Hargreaves has underwent a 3 hour medical at Bridgewater hospital and he could be about to join United's 'noisy neighbors' Manchester City on a free transfer deal. How many times Roberto Mancini expects to call on the former England international is going to be interesting but we all know they have money to burn and paying his wages to sit on the bench (or not as it may be) is small change for them. Indeed City were linked with midfielder Mark van Bommel today so clearly the central midfield position is one Mancini wants to bring one more player into. Meanwhile Hargreaves believes he can still make Fabio Capello's Euro 2012 squad despite playing only 27 times for United in four years.
