Official News

Despite attention from elsewhere, Southampton's Luke Shaw has committed himself to the club by signing a long-term deal. The left-back was wanted by Arsenal.

The Rumour Mill

Manchester United are the talk of the town today. Both The Times (warning: paywall) and the Sun has said (again) that they are likely to sign Wilfried Zaha on a £12m deal. The Metro claims that they are also looking to sign Chelsea stars Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, whose contracts both end in the summer. Finally, talkSPORT believes that Sir Alex Ferguson has sent bis brother to Spain after expressing an interest in Rayo Vallecano striker Leo Baptistao. With a strike force like United's, however, it's unclear as to where he'll fit into Fergie's plans. According to the Evening Standard, Harry Redknapp wants to sign skulking mercenary William Gallas. The 35-year-old defender has already played at Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham, with Spurs unlikely to offer him a new contract in the summer. QPR have also put in a £5m bid for West Brom's Jonas Olsson. The Swedish defender's current contract means that he will have a £4m buy-out clause in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror. There are conflicting reports over the future of Internacional striker and Spurs target Leandro Damaio. The Daily Mail claims that the Brazillian wants to stay at his current club, while the Sun believes that he is "ready for an approach" from Tottenham. talkSPORT claims that West Ham are ready to move for Everton centre-back Silvain Distin. However, the Sun believes that the 35-year-old is ready to commit his future to the Merseyside club.
