Halfway there now, and there’s been some early business today! Yay!
Swansea have agreed a deal with Osasuna for winger Roland Lamah. The 25-year-old was not signed in time for the FA Cup replay against Arsenal tomorrow, but will be available for Saturday’s match against Stoke. Technically, Lamah is on loan at the Swans for 18 months; however, the club is allowed to sign him on a permanent deal at any time.
Rafa Benitez has confirmed in a press conference that young Chelsea winger Lucas Piazon has gone on loan to cash-strapped Malaga until the end of the season.
The QPRumour Mill
The Mail reports that having stolen Loic Remy from the clutches of Newcastle, QPR intend to add insult to injury by finalising an £8m move for 22-year-old midfielder Yann M’Vila.
It doesn’t end there for QPR, though. According to the Mirror, Harry Redknapp is still chasing West Brom stars Peter Odemwingie and Jonas Olsson. Uncle ‘Arry has already had a £2m bid rejected for 31-year-old Odemwingie, and a £5m bid rejected for £8m-valued Olsson.
Wait, there’s more: the same report suggests that QPR are also after 20-year-old Aussie Tom Rogic, who has also attracted interest from Fulham and Celtic. The midfielder’s contract with A-League side Central Coast Mariners expires in the summer.
One more? Oh, go on then. If bids for Olsson and William Gallas fail, QPR will resort to Titus Bramble, according to the Mirror.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Arsene Wenger is trying to sign Mohamed Diame. The Sun believes that the Gunners have placed a £3.5m bid for the Senegalese midfielder.
Champions Manchester City will go searching for a new defender or two if Vincent Kompany loses his appeal against the red card he received versus Arsenal, according to the Mirror. Roberto Mancini is apparently keen on Borussia Dortmund duo Neven Subotic and Mats Hummels – but would ideally like Roma’s Daniele de Rossi. Kompany will learn whether or not his suspension has been lifted by tonight.
After yesterday’s reports of Victor Valdes heading to Liverpool, the Daily Star suggests that David De Gea is on Barcelona’s shortlist to replace him.
