After enduring accusations that he used to go down remarkably easy for a strapping lad in the Premier League, Gareth Bale has clearly spent the summer bulking up to make sure he only goes down when he really means to next season. The gyms around Madrid must have seen business soar, since Bale has gone from athletic looking young man to rejected auditionee for The Expendables 3 in the space of just a year. Sporting a questionable slicked-back hairstyle that is more reminiscent of Essex in 1981 than Madrid in 2014, Bale's bronzed God new look was unveiled by the Real Madrid official Twitter account, among pictures of his team-mates preparing ahead of the European Super Cup on August 12th. The game, held at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, will be contested by Madrid and Sevilla - last year's Europa League winners. If his physique is anything to go by, Bale will be making a bigger impact in Spain this season even than he managed last season, and the addition of so much timber will surely have more La Liga defenders quaking in their boots.
