Spurs News: Erik Lamela Keeping Himself Grounded

The Argentine isn't getting carried away after a good start to the season.

Erik Lamela has told the Spurs official website that he is keeping his feet firmly on the ground, despite the fact that he has made a fantastic start to the season both domestically and in international football. The Argentina international attacker has performed admirably for Spurs in both the Premier League and Europa League, putting in dynamic performances and providing his team-mates with a number of assists, making this season more of a success already than the whole of the last campaign. As well as his promising start for Spurs, Lamela also scored his first international goal - a thumping but well-placed volley - in Argentina's 4-2 win over World Cup winners Germany in Dusseldorf last week. Lamela is both back to full fitness after an injury-hit first campaign at Spurs and settled in to his new surroundings - facts that are apparent in both his performances on the pitch and in his general demeanour. He has spoken out about his season thus far, saying this about his international goal:
I€™m happy because it was my first goal for Argentina and even happier because we won the game. It€™s one goal, it was special, but it€™s just one goal and I will keep my feet on the ground. To win 4-2 against Germany, the world champions, is a special result. It was great to be part of it.
He has also spoken out about the upcoming Premier League game against Sunderland:
We will need to show good personality and character at Sunderland and I hope we win this game.
Are you pleased to see Erik Lamela in such great form and feeling more a part of Spurs? Will he be a big asset for Spurs over the course of this full season?
