Spurs Poll: Is Paulinho Good Enough For Tottenham?

Were Spurs sold a dud when the Brazilian signed?

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club signed midfielder Paulinho for £17 million from Corinthians last summer. The Brazilian joined with a big reputation, having won the Confederations Cup with Brazil in 2013 and having been deemed the competition's third best player. However, he has yet to really set the Premier League alight or live up to said reputation since signing on at White Hart Lane. In his first season at the club, he scored six Premier League goals in 28 starts and two additional goals in other competitions - one in the League Cup and one in the Europa League - which is a far cry from the expectations of someone who was dubbed the Premier League's next Frank Lampard thanks to his box-to-box running and reputation for scoring regularly from midfield. He has yet to start in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino and has been strongly linked with a move away from Spurs this summer. That said, in last night's 3-0 home win against AEL Limassol in the Europa League qualifying round second leg, Paulinho assisted Harry Kane for Spurs' first goal and helped himself to the second, putting himself in contention for the man of the match award and, at times last season - such as in a dazzling display against Stoke City - he was great. So, what we want to know is if you think Paulinho is actually good enough for Spurs? Or was the player just a flash in the pan, going through a freak run of good form that falsely represented his true ability prior to Spurs purchasing him?
