Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham To Rival Liverpool For Tom Ince?
Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move to sign £8 million-rated Tom Ince from under the noses of rivals Liverpool, according to the Daily Star. Spurs made late enquiries for the Blackpool winger in the January transfer window back when it looked as though he would be heading back to Anfield, but Brendan Rodgers' failure to complete the deal has left the door open for a summer move. It is understood the Lilly Whites have even opened talks with the player's agent in an attempt to steal a move on their rivals, where the England Under-21 international made his debut as a youth team player before moving to the Seasiders 18 months ago. Since his move to the Championship outfit, the winger has shone, and has scored 19 times in 36 appearances this term. Last weekend, he was also named the 'Young Player of the Year' for the division while he has also attracted interest from as many as ten potential Premier League suitors. However, Spurs hope they can fend off interest from elsewhere and believe their track record for success with players from the Championship gives them an advantage in the race for his signature. The likes of Gareth Bale, Kyle Walker and Aaron Lennon have all developed from having Championship potential into established Premier League and international players at White Hart Lane.
