Spurs Vs Inter: Team News, Match Preview And Likely Line-Ups

Venue: White Hart Lane Date: Thursday, March 7th Time: 8:05pm TV: ITV1

Team News

Spurs' casualty list doesn't look to have increased despite the injuries obtained by Moussa Dembele and Emmanuel Adebayor in Sunday's North London derby - both should be in the squad against Inter with only Adebayor a slight doubt. Jermain Defoe should, however, start up front, having made his comeback in that match. Otherwise, it is only Clint Dempsey and the long-term absentee trio of Younes Kaboul, Sandro and Tom Huddlestone who will miss out. Brad Friedel should continue to take the goalkeeping reins, as has been the case for most of Spurs' Europa League campaign. Inter Milan are suffering from something of an injury crisis and are definitely without defenders Matías Silvestre and Yuto Nagatomo, while the fitness levels of international centre-backs Andrea Ranocchia and Walter Samuel are in serious doubt. Diego Milito is out for the season. Manager Andrea Stramaccioni, who could also be without midfielder Fredy Guarin due to injury, has had to call six youth players up to his squad for the White Hart Lane clash. Source: Sky Sports

Match Preview

Tottenham's confidence should be sky-high after a memorable victory over bitter rivals Arsenal saw them climb to third in the Premier League table on Sunday, while Inter's injury crisis has come at a less than ideal time and has massively dented their hopes of marking Gareth Bale out of the game. Inter will be very wary of the Welshman, who has only improved since he tore them apart in the Champions League back in 2010. Such is the intensity of Tottenham's league campaign, this game against Inter may even come as light relief when compared to both last weekend€™s fixture and this Sunday€™s visit to Anfield. However, expect Andre Villas-Boas to resist the temptation to rest his biggest names.

Likely Lineups

Tottenham Hotspur: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Dembele, Bale, Holtby, Lennon, Defoe. Inter Milan: Handanovic, Pereira, Jesus, Chivu, Zanetti, Kuzmanovic, Cambiasso, Gargano, Alvarez, Schelotto, Cassano.
