Spurs vs Norwich - Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Tottenham Hotspur€™s record signing Erik Lamela is set to start on the bench after a long journey back from international duty as Norwich City visit White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon. Christian Eriksen could make his Spurs debut, while fellow new boy Vlad Chiriches has yet to receive his work permit. Aaron Lennon (foot) and Etienne Capoue (ankle) are also missing, as is Emmanuel Adebayor who is on leave in Togo. Gylfi Sigurdsson picked up a dead leg playing for Iceland but should be fit. Norwich could also be set to hand a debut to Gary Hooper, signed from Celtic, who has returned to training after picking up an injury during pre-season. Hooper joins a match day squad that is at full strength. Andre Villas-Boas will be hoping that his side bounce back from their derby defeat at Arsenal, although goals from open play have proved a problem in the league for the lilywhites. Only two penalties, from summer signing Roberto Soldado, have come despite Spurs dominating possession in all three league games to date. In the opposition dugout, Chris Hughton will be returning to his former home, with the ex-Spurs player and assistant manager looking to build on the 1-0 win over Southampton last time out. After Giovanni Trapattoni€™s departure from the Republic of Ireland job, Hughton was linked with his country€™s top job but stated his happiness at Carrow Road. Norwich will be looking to build on their good record at White Hart Lane since their return to the Premier League. The Canaries have won one, drawn one of their two games at Tottenham since their promotion in 2011, with Robert Snodgrass€™ late goal picking up a point for the away team. With the season still in its infancy, a win for Spurs could see them top the table if results go their way, while a loss could see Norwich bottom. However, what is certain is that three points for the away team would see them leapfrog their hosts in table.
