Sunderland's Anton Ferdinand To Join QPR In £4 Million Deal

26 year old defender who is in the last year of his contract is expected to be unveiled at Loftus Road tomorrow.

The Telegraph are reporting that Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand is expected to be unveiled as a Queens Park Rangers player tomorrow. Ferdinand, who has been linked with a move away from Sunderland every summer since he made the massive £8 million move from West Ham three years ago is one of Sunderland's top earners on £40,000 a week. Having never fulfilled the promise to be as dominant in the league as his older brother Rio, and despite impressing against Liverpool at Anfield on the opening day of the season, Bruce doesn't think he needs him for the new campaign as Titus Bramble and Michael Turner edge closer to fitness and John O'Shea and Wes Brown have joined as new recruits. £4 million is believed to be the fee which seems a good bit of business for a 26 year old in the last year of his deal. Bruce is determined to re-invest the money on his striking options having only scored once in the first three Premier League games and with Asamoah Gyan misfiring against Newcastle and Swansea. It is believed Wolfsburg and German international Patrick Helmes is the number 1 choice and both clubs were in negotiations over the weekend for the proposed transfer... though it is believed the player might prefer a stay in his native country amidst interest from other Bundesliga clubs.
