10 Best Simpsons Characters Who Debuted After The Golden Age

2. The Yes Guy

Like a couple of characters on this list, the Yes Guy (sometimes called the Frank Nelson type) has a one-note feel to him. But he’s the closest to the Golden Age too, debuting in Season 10’s Mayored To The Mob, and still has some of that sheen.

While Gil and Cookie just limboed under the bar, the Yes Guy might fall short but in the hearts and minds of many fans, he’s as integral to Springfield as they are. His signature ‘Yeeeeeeeees!’ is arguably even more recognisable than Cookie Kwan being number one on the West Side.

Though he can be annoying if overused, the writers tend to use him just the right amount. His design is perfect for his snooty tone of voice, and they manage to write around his limited vocabulary well. And while the growth of Springfield meant the show lost some of its original charm, Yes Guy allowed them to bring in classier settings where Squeaky Voiced Teen and Raphael would be out of place.

With such a recognisable voice and catchphrase, he’s an essential part of The Simpsons now.
