10 Hot TV Nerds Who Set Completely Unrealistic Expectations

veronica_mars_38595 There's a special place in television culture reserved for the Hollywood Nerd. They've got all the personality quirks of your average Comic-Con entrant combined with the visual appeal of your average jobbing actor. Television dictates that viewers would prefer to look at attractive people (I think I'm going to have a heart attack and die from that surprise), the practical result of which is that we get incredibly good-looking people playing characters who can't get a date to save their lives. These ten people, however, are television nerds who go above and beyond what is typically seen in the trope. They are so geeky and so attractive that they've managed to give viewers a completely skewed perspective of what a nerd is. We are going out into the world expecting people like this to actually exist. Look out, nerds -- it's not just girls who have to try to live up to an unrealistic ideal anymore.

10. Fred - Angel

fred Her name is Winifred Burkle, and she is glorious. She's just your average physics grad student/librarian who was so talented in her field that her adviser, jealous of her promise, sent her to an alternate demon universe. She survived for five years in a world where humans are used as slaves, until Angel and Co. rescued her and brought her back to Los Angeles. While staying at Angel Investigations, she become something of a loner, obviously suffering from some effects of PTSD. But she proved invaluable to the group, putting her puzzle-solving and catapult-building skills to good use. With her doe eyes, Southern drawl, and sweet disposition, she was a favorite amongst fans and the characters themselves.
