Over the last three years, the world has been blessed with one of the freshest and funniest television shows in recent history. NBC’s Community contains the coolest cast and amazing pop culture obsessed writers. During the last three seasons, the writers have included all different kinds of pop culture references throughout the series. Some references are obvious, like when Abed dresses like Batman, and some less obvious, like Abed trying to reference My Dinner with Andre.
Season four was supposed to air on October 19th, but NBC decided to hold off on the premieres of Community and Whitney incase some of their new programming failed to attract an audience. One of those new shows, Animal Practice, was recently cancelled. Instead of bringing back Community, NBC unfortunately decided to air Whitney. In hopes of keeping you entertained until Greendale is back in our lives, here is a list of 10 mind blowing pop culture references from the most under appreciated comedy on TV.

I never noticed the Beetlejuice thing! That is fracking clever!
How can you leave out the Law and Order episode? It was fantastic
And the Goodfellas chicken episode!
I love the comments everyone, if I did a much larger list I would have added those references as well. These are some of my favorite from the best comedy on tv.
This list is quality! LOVE the Beetljuice reference. Became aware of it a while back through a YouTube video; it really is proof of how subtly clever the Community writers are. One I’d like to add: Abed’s Batman references. I think there are two; although I’m too tired to figure out which episodes they were from. I want to say the Halloween specials?
As soon as I opened this article I thought “Beetlejuice!” Glad you remembered it for this.
