Dynasty was an American prime time soap opera that aired from 1981 to 1989, a show which spawned everything from a line of fashion products to a spin-off series. The show revolved around the Carringtons, a rich family that lived in Denver, Colorado.

Despite beginning with lukewarm ratings, the show went on to become a huge hit, earning numerous Golden Globe nominations. Over the course of the show's nine season run it became well known for its season finale cliffhangers, but none generated as much buzz or controversy as the "Moldavian Massacre".

The massacre took place in 1985 during the season five finale. In it, a royal wedding in Moldavia is interrupted by terrorists who literally shoot up every single main character in the church. The episode went on to become the most talked about episode of television that year, gaining a viewership of sixty million. The controversy came when at the beginning of the next season it was revealed that only two people had died. Bullets, eh? They just ain't what they used to be.
