4. No Fewer Than Five Walking Dead Cast Members Have Appeared On The X-Files

What do Laurie Holden, Scott Wilson, Jeffrey DeMunn, Denise Crosby and Pruitt Taylor Vince all have in common? Each has appeared on a much earlier genre show hit, The X-Files. Holden played Andrea on TWD for 35 episodes from 2010 to 2013. However, from 1996 to 2002 she also appeared in ten episodes of The X-Files as Marita Covarrubias, a mysterious informant high up in the UN tied into the show's ongoing mythology. Meanwhile Scott Wilson, Hershel in the Walking Dead world, played an avenging reverend in Orison in The X-File's seventh season, which involved his character freeing the demonic fan favourite Donnie Pfaster from prison, only to later be murdered by the man he intended to execute himself. Jeffrey DeMunn, the down to earth, kind-hearted Dale from The Walking Dead's first two seasons, played a doctor experimenting with an alien virus in the first X-Files movie. Pruitt Taylor Vince is known to Walking Dead fans as Otis, a farm hand of Herschel who Shane sacrifices to save his own skin in the second season. On The X-Files, he played the creepy Gerry Schnauz in the episode Unruhe, who performed amateur lobotomies on unsuspecting victims strapped to a dental chair.
