10 Upcoming Anime You MUST Watch

Anime series are released all the time, and 2020 looks to have some incredible series for fans!

Attack On Titan Eren Thumb
Kodansha/Hajime Isayama

Japanese animation has been one of the greatest forms of entertainment around for the better part of half-a-century, and each and every year, new series, seasons, characters, and stories are released to an eager fanbase. Because they are often derived from Manga, fans know a lot about the series before they drop, but even a devoted Anime adaptation often differs in some way from its source material.

This has made Anime a fun and entertaining experience, and as more and more fans log onto Crunchyroll and other sites, the audience is expanding exponentially. Long gone are the days of people crowding around a VCR to catch a single episode of a series, as it's become far easier to find, and there is a lot of it.

This can make it difficult to figure out what should be watched. After all, there's only so much time to spare for entertainment, and the world is flush with content, which makes it tough to decide on what should be watched next.

Fortunately, WhatCulture has your back, as each and every one of these series is one any fan of Anime should be on the lookout for. Some of these series are set to debut soon, while others are set to drop later in 2020, so be sure to BOLO these shows, and drop a note in the comments describing which one you're looking forward to the most.

10. EX-ARM - エクスアーム

Attack On Titan Eren Thumb
HiRock / Shinya Komi

EX-ARM has been an incredibly popular Manga series since its debut in 2015, and throughout its run, it published 14 volumes. Those volumes are getting an anime adaptation, which is set to premiere in Japan in July 2020.

Sadly, that means, it may take a little time for English subtitles, but if the show is anything like the books, it's well worth the wait. The series revolves around high school student Akira Natsume, who dies in a horrible accident.

The story continues in the year 2030, which is 16 years after the accident, a policewoman and her android partner find and activate an advanced artificial intelligence superweapon called EX-ARM. They install it into their ship as a last resort, but it turns out the AI is none other than Akira's brain!

EX-ARM concluded in August 2019, but a sequel series, Ex-Arm EX was launched the same month. There's no word yet if that will also be adapted into the anime series, but HiRock, the writer of both, is set to work on the adaptation alongside Shinya Komi who provided the artwork for the books.
