12 Things Agents Of SHIELD Needs To Fix For Season 2

The first season got better as it went on. Here's how series 2 can build on this momentum.

The first season of Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD ended a few weeks ago, and while the show's had its ups and downs since it premiered last year, it's safe to say that it finished its run on a high note, bringing in major twists and turns for the final stretch of episodes that shook up the dynamics between lead characters and raised the stakes to the rafters. ABC must certainly have thought so too, as they recently renewed the show for another season. While that's good news for those who enjoyed the first season's lighthearted and slightly shambolic attempt to project an action-adventure-cum-spy procedural veneer over the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper, others weren't that happy with the show's inconsistent quality and occasional lulls in story. It's true: the show's first season was far from perfect. It was far from adequate on some occasions, but that doesn't mean it can't get better. Just think about the potential for a series like this, with a huge back catalogue of characters and stories to bring to life on the small screen, and consider that nothing else like this has really been done before on such a huge scale and that perhaps nobody was going to get it exactly right the first time around. With all that in mind, we've compiled a list of things that weren't really working in Agents Of SHIELD's first season that, if rectified, could easily boost the show into stellar territory.
