Emilia Clarke's rapid rise to the global stage has been remarkable. In just four years, she has been launched from roles in minor productions, to worldwide fame as Game of Thrones heroine Daenerys Targaryen. Her success has gone hand-in-hand with the HBO series' enormous success. In 2010 - just one year after graduating from Drama Centre London - the 28-year-old was cast as the star of Game of Thrones before the first season had begun filming. Now as the show approaches its fifth series, Clarke's career is continuing to blossom, with several major roles lined up. This summer, Clarke will feature as Sarah Connor in the highly-anticipated Terminator Genisys, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. It will mark her biggest film role so far, with her only other mainstream appearance coming in Dom Hemmingway with Jude Law in 2013. She will also star in indie film Voice From The Stone, and Me Before You alongside Hunger Games actor Sam Claflin, with her career resting on her commitments to Game of Thrones, while two further Terminator films have been announced for the rebooted franchise.
