Who? Joel & Ethan Coen (creators); James Franco, Zoe Kazan, Tyne Daly, Willie Watson.
What? A Western anthology series, with each of the six episodes telling a different tale of the American frontier.
Why? "We are streaming motherf***ers!" - the Coens. What more do you need? The Coens have been delivering some of the weirdest, funniest, most idiosyncratic and plainly best movies for the last 20+ years, and now they're taking their skills - both directing and writing - to TV, with the freedom allowed by Netflix meaning they won't have to compromise on their style at all. There's a talented cast there too - Franco is on a roll, while O Brother, Where Art Thou?'s Tim Blake Nelson is playing the titular Buster - and the anthology style allows them to vary tone within the Western format (which they've already proven they can do very well).
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
