Buffy the Vampire Slayer is undoubtedly one of the great television shows.
The project that fired Joss Whedon to greatness had everything – humour, drama, tragedy, likeable and relatable (and downright attractive) characters and a hell of a lot of action.
One thing the show wasn’t afraid to do was tackle serious social issues. Some of the most difficult topics imaginable were dealt with head-on, which garnered respect from all corners of the globe, both critically and from a viewer perspective, due to the brilliant way in which those issues were handled.
Of course, with the inclusion of these issues came controversy and criticism, but that’s to be expected.
