7 Reasons You Should Watch Mr. Robot Right Now

6. It's A Relatively Realistic Representation Of Hacking Culture

Mr Robot
USA Network

If you have the technical prowess of a rabbit attempting to learn coding then you won't know where to start when it comes to hacking a sibling's Facebook account, let alone the world's biggest and most powerful business. This hasn't been helped by films and television programmes over the decades, many of which have completely hammed up hacking culture. Whether it's the original Tron or the god-awful '90s film The Net, it is often clear that many screenwriters have had little idea as to what computer hacking actually consists of.

Mr. Robot, on the other hand, is celebrated for doing the crime justice. It doesn't dumb down too much of the technical jargon for the audience, and it's always nice when a TV show doesn't make you feel like an idiot. This further highlights how downright intelligent Sam Esmail and the Mr. Robot's writers are, in order to make you feel clever for being able to successfully follow the plot. Great writing is intelligent writing, making Mr. Robot perhaps the most intelligent TV drama around today.

So, if you don't know your 'Raspberry Pi' from your 'Honeypot', never fear. Mr. Robot has the goods to give you the inspiration and the intelligence to become the most feared hacker on the web (until you get too scared that the FBI will storm your house so you go back to watching fictional characters do it instead).
