8 Most Inventive Ways Of Getting Rid Of Unwanted TV Characters

4. Lost In Time And Space

Heroes was a difficult show. Because it had such a large cast, most of whom had lives and storylines independent of each other, the writers were constantly adding in new characters to keep things flowing. This also meant that the show ended up with a surplus of characters that no one really knew what to do with. While some characters were killed off, many more simply disappeared with little or no explanation. As time travel was a central aspect of the show, alternate timelines basically became a dumping ground for unwanted characters. Introduced in Season Two, Caitlin was intended as a love interest for Peter Patrelli, but she didn't last long as Peter accidentally left her behind during a jaunt to the future in the seventh episode of the Season. The fact that the future in question was one where a virus had devastated the human population was bad enough, but as the other characters in the show later managed to prevent the virus from being unleashed, the future seen in this episode was later erased. With Caitlin still in it. If that doesn't stop a character from coming back, nothing will.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
