Arrow: 10 Greatest Episodes

Remember Season 2? Good times.

Arrow Best Episodes
The CW

100 episodes of Arrow. 100 episodes of cheesy voiceovers, gratuitous flashbacks and second rate special effects. 100 episodes and only two good seasons. But where would we be without it?

As the show hits the 100 mark with this week's 'Invasion!' crossover episode, it reminds us all that without it, we'd have no Flash, no Supergirl, no Legends of Tomorrow. You could even make an argument that without Arrow, there'd be no Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or Defenders. I won't, but you could. Arrow has ranged from absolutely brilliant to, at times, completely unwatchable, but it paved the way for superheroes on mainstream TV, and we owe it so much.

Whittling through four and a bit seasons to find 10 episodes was a struggle, but there's such a big difference in quality between the first 50 and the second, so knowing where to look was easy enough.

10. Eleven-Fifty-Nine (Season 4 Episode 18)

Arrow Best Episodes
The CW

The only season 4 episode to be included, Arrow lost a lot of fans after Laurel Lance’s death in ‘Eleven-Fifty-Nine’. The episode doesn't make the list for its decision to kill off the Black Canary (because, really, what is Green Arrow without Black Canary?), and it certainly doesn't make the list for the way her death was handled.

‘Eleven-Fifty-Nine’ gets a spot on the list for being the one episode of Arrow to get Black Canary right. In her last episode on the show, Black Canary was at the centre of the action, and she made the quips rather than Felicity. Felicity didn't actually appear in the episode until the last five minutes, and can anyone honestly say they noticed?
