Arrow Season 6: 10 Major Predictions

2. Too Many Villains

Richard Dragon
DC

Arrow hasn't totally locked in its Big Bad for Season 6 just yet. We do know that Richard Dragon will be appearing, with Kirk Acevedo taking on the role. This iteration of Dragon will be a more grounded crime lord, but while he'll be one of the main antagonists, he won't be the only one.

We also know that Anatoly will be back this year too, with him and the Bratva providing another source of antagonism for Oliver throughout the season.

Then there's the addition of Lost's Michael Emerson in an unspecified role - the smart money there is on him being the head of Helix, Cayden James, who could take on a villainous role as well (it'd certainly be right in Emerson's wheelhouse). Finally, we have the presence of Slade Wilson's son, Joe, who doesn't look like he has the same feelings towards Ollie that his father does.

That's four different kinds of threats to unfold, which fits with Stephen Amell's comments (via CBR) of the villains being unveiled 24 style. Arrow works best when it has one grounded villain for Oliver to fight against - Dark Archer, Deathstroke, Prometheus - so it's not promising to hear that there'll be so many villains around this year. Dragon alone could be a great Big Bad if done right, and Bratva could work well too (even just as secondary villains), but it sounds like it's going to be overkill this year (and the prospect of more Helix isn't a thrilling one).
