And the Oscar goes to... a talking horse!

BoJack Horseman is one of Netflix's most surprising original series - an animated series set in a world where humans and anthropomorphic animals coexist. Despite an initial lukewarm reception it's gone on to become a critical favourite, and with good reason. It manages to be full of madcap humour, and also pose a serious study on fame and depression.

Now we've got a new trailer for the upcoming third season, which is set to build on the success even further, with possible Oscar glory for the titular star (voiced by Will Arnett). Following his move from fading sitcom star to the big-screen, BoJack's turn in the Secretariat film has earned him a nomination from the Academy. In true BoJack fashion, though, that's not necessarily a good thing.

The series taking a look at the Oscar campaign through its own rather unique lens sounds like a great idea, examining the various politics and struggles that come with it, and showing the reality and struggles alongside the glitzier side of the industry. That fits with the creator, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, telling IndieWire that Season 3 will get darker and weirder. And really, that should only be a good thing for BoJack Horseman.
