Buffy The Vampire Slayer Quiz: Who Kissed Who?
It's not all about the bite; sometimes you've got to use lips and tongue too!
Buffy The Vampire Slayer's success across seven seasons of television may have been built on the back of its demons, snappy writing and girl power, but it was romance that underpinned so many of the Scooby Gang's actions, driving them from lustful teens through to slightly less lustful adults, with jobs and houses and all that.
Series creator Joss Whedon knew how to wring the blood, sweat and tears from every moment of passion, and wove it into the show's DNA, allowing characters to kiss and fight and love and lose and perhaps make up, charting their own romantic courses with no predestination. And, in doing so, he also managed to wangle one of TV's first big lesbian kisses (Willow and Tara), paving the way for the broader acceptance of LGBT+ relationships on network and, crucially, non-watershed programming.
That's not to say it was all-go all the time, but there were many kisses throughout the show that brought a tear to our eye (say, Buffy and Spike in season five's Intervention), many others we awaited with baited breath (say, Buffy and Spike in season six's Once More, With Feeling) and many more that we gagged at (say, Buffy and Spike in season four's Something Blue).
But that's enough Spuffy; time to have a go at the hard ones.
