Now that December has finally arrived, the countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun and for Doctor Who fans there will be one almighty present they just can't wait to get their hands on, and that's not their full size remote controlled fully functioning replica of K-9. The centrepiece of the festivities will, of course, be the now traditional Doctor Who Christmas Special which is particularly exciting this year as it will mark the Christmas Day debut of Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor in an episode tantalisingly titled Last Christmas. Whovians have already been treated to a handful of trailers and previews and, as part of the BBC's now customary mandate to tease fans to the point of no return, they've just released a sleigh load of new images from the festive episode to give a further insight into what lies in wait for the Doctor in his tenth annual yuletide escapade. So, put your feet up, make yourself a nice warm mug of hot cocoa and join us a journey through a new gallery of pictures from this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, starting with this new candid shot of Clara Oswald, above, in which she's seen to be peeking over her shoulder at the seasonal shocks and surprises to come. Oh Clara, you tease! One thing is for sure, this Christmas, for the Doctor at least, is going to be a dark one...
