The simple idea of a lowly pizza delivery boy emerging from a cryogenic chamber in the year 3000 awarded Groening and his design team some serious creative freedom when creating characters. Due to the inter-planetary backdrop, they managed to dream up some of the wackiest and imaginative supporting cast members seen across the spectrum of animated sitcoms - and that's saying something.
