Game Of Thrones: 10 Flashbacks That Need To Happen

Looking back would drop some huge hints for the future.

Game of Thrones is a deep show with tangled storylines running from the start of the very first season right the way through to the current events. Characters' paths are becoming increasingly entwined as winter approaches.

It is a series that prides itself on rich story-telling, with the source material books rumbling into great depths about the history of the realm. But while fans have heard numerous references to past events through songs, stories, rumours, and Petyr Baelish's wandering, lying Irish voice, they've never played out on screen.

The books are full of dreams, visions and flashbacks that didn't make the cut to the show just yet, though as the TV series catches up to George R.R. Martin's latest works, hopes that they could play out in future episodes diminish.

However, Season 5 did include the show's first flashback. This gives hope that the producers will slowly introduce moments from the past that play an important part of the future. This is key for any potential flashbacks. They need to be relevant to the current proceedings for them to fit with the show. Character development is hugely important, and Game of Thrones has mastered that art, but flashbacks need to include new information; they need to serve a purpose other than just to fill space.

So here are 10 flashbacks that everyone wants to see from the books as well as fan theories and imaginations.
