Game Of Thrones: 10 Moments That Prove Stannis Was The Mannis

He refused to be a page in someone else's history book.

Stannis Baratheon quickly went from a respected, if not loved character to one of the most hated in the course of a single episode. Just a couple of scenes, in fact. While fans had grown accustomed to his dealings with Melisandre and the Lord of Light, it had been hoped there was a limit on how far he would go. Namely, that the limit would be Shireen. Not even filicide was too far for Stannis, as he sacrificed his only child to R€™hllor in the hopes of it helping him win the war with the Boltons. Suffice to say it didn€™t work out too well. Before that moment though, Stannis proved himself to be one of the few honourable and just men in Westeros. He was loyal, noble, did his duty, and was the rightful heir to the Iron Throne following Robert€™s death. His judgement was clouded by the presence of Melisandre, and the fact her blood magic appeared to work, but generally he did what he believed was right, and for the good of the realm. He was a warrior, a leader, and a man who would€™ve been the kind of King that the Seven Kingdoms may not have wanted, but definitely needed. Stannis doesn€™t want your love, he just wants to do what is right. Even if he has to kill his only child along the way. Putting that awful moment aside, let€™s remind ourselves of the times when Stannis really lived up to his nickname, and was indeed €˜The Mannis€™€
