Game Of Thrones: 11 Characters Who Will Probably Survive Until The End

8. Brienne Of Tarth

Why She'll Survive

Brienne of Tarth is one of the greatest warriors alive in Westeros at the moment, which - along with the fact she wields the Valyrian steel sword Oathkeeper - means she's got a big role to play in the battle against the White Walkers. Brienne has long been shown as one of the truly 'good' characters, and her close alignment to - and protection of - the Starks should stand her in good stead.

There's also her relationship with Jaime to consider, with one of them likely to die and the other live. It's not much of a stretch to see a scenario whereby Jaime (having previously killed Cersei) sacrifices his own life to save Brienne's, thus completing his tragic redemption arc. And if that happened, it'd be a waste to kill off Brienne as well, who can go on to become the greatest knight of Westeros' future (whatever future it has, anyway).

Why She Might Not

As mentioned she's going to be a big part of the final battle, right in the thick of the action. That puts a big target on her back and increases her risk of dying during the fight.
